1 Large Onion Chopped
1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
1 Teaspoon Whole Peppercorns
4 Whole Cardamom Pods
1 Small Cinnamon Stick Minced
2 Bay Leaves
2 Cups Long Grain Rice [Basmati rice optional]
2 Cups Chicken Broth
1 1/2 Cups Cold Water
1 Dash Of Salt
1 Dash Of Ground Black Pepper

Cooking Directions:
In a large skillet or saucepan saute the onions in the butter until golden brown, Add rice, spices and blend and toss until well coated, cook 2 minutes. Add chicken broth and cold water, bring to a boil, reduce the heat cover the skillet cook on a slow simmer for 20-25 minutes. All liquid should absorb and rice will be fluffy and tender. Fluff with a fork if needed. Eat it with chopsticks.
